Research

REF 2029

The Research Excellence Framework assesses the research that takes place in UK HE. This is then used to allocate block-grant research funding. You might be given targets for research based publications, especially in international journals. 

BSRLM

The British Society for Research into Learning Mathematics holds termly day conferences and publishes Research in Mathematics Education (RME) three times per year. It is a supportive environment for both new and experienced researchers.

AdvanceHE

As well as teaching, AdvanceHE supports the development of research culture in universities.

Research Gate

This is a repository for research articles and a way to contact researchers.

ITE and HE networks

UCET

The Universities Council for the Education of Teachers (UCET) has weekly updates, information from members about events and research projects, jobs, external examiner vacancies; They hold an annual conference in November. 

TEAN

Teacher Education Advancement Network (TEAN) supports ITE, holds an annual conference, has induction training programmes, has a journal (free to join). 

AdvanceHE

AdvanceHE supports HE in a variety of ways, including the HE Teaching Fellowships. 

Guild HE

Guild HE is a representative body for UK Higher Education. Here you can add a short description.

Universities UK

Universities UK is a 'collective voice' for 141 universities. It incorporates the work of Universities Wales and Universities Scotland.

The Cathedrals Group

This group represents church affiliated universities in England. 

ATEE

The Association of Teacher Education in Europe supports communication and exchange of practice and research in teacher education across Europe. 

QAA

The Quality Assurance Agency works across the UK and internationally to provide QA support for higher education.

Joint NAMA/AMET CPD Extravaganza

We are planning for an extended ‘CPD Saturday’ with NAMA, running over two days and taking place near Slough. Full details will follow next term; keynote are confirmed and we are very excited.
